This concerns the building of a sustainable knowledge and competence network for e-infrastructures and associated services within Austrian academic institutions. The result is a network of people with expertise on specific topics or technologies. The acquired know-how is always documented, and the results of the Work Packages will be published by the project partners under free licenses and will be made freely and publicly available.
Networking and the exchange of experiences helps towards the development of new fields of activity for libraries, such as the expansion of research support services for national scientists. The strong technical direction of the project requires a joint approach with the local IT services. This leads to new networks within the institutions. With this strategic approach, e-infrastructures Austria will be able to identify and collaborate with other infrastructure projects currently being developed nationally and internationally.
