Cluster C - Designing a Knowledge Network: Development of a reference structure for the construction of Repositories

During the process of building Repositories, questions regarding management also emerge. To ensure long-term optimization of financial and time resources, these issues should be addressed promptly in the planning phase. Cluster C deals with the development of a reference model that considers all these issues. This work is undertaken in close cooperation with Cluster D (Infrastructure). As a result, a Knowledge Network will be established, in which persons or institutions with a particular expertise on specific issues take part, and from where specific discipline focussed knowledge will be made available to all project partners in the form of documentation and recommendations.

A direct intervention from Project Management in the implementation of Repositories at the individual institutions is not within the scope of this working group.

Key Activities:

  • Business plans for the construction and implementation of a Repository (budget planning, resource planning, long-term strategic direction, etc.)
  • Terminology and standards: definition of areas of responsibility, terminology, standards, and conventions
  • Policies: guidance for the development of Policies
  • Marketing: strategic and operational Marketing in connection with the construction and operation of Repositories
  • Training plans
  • Research data: supporting the development of a reference model for "Research Data Management Infrastructure"
